Cooking...

I was making some hummus for lunch and Anna Kate wanted to help... I think she thought I said "Chickadee" instead of "chickpeas." Oh well, she had fun biting the measuring cup anyway!

My new exersaucer is so much fun! I might even play in it and let mommy cook once in a while!

Snow!

Anna Kate experienced snow for the first time tonight. For all of you gasping about me having her out in the cold (Mom) she was bundled up and out there for a 30 seconds max. :) In Chattanooga, you have to enjoy snow while it lasts. This may be as much as we see for a few years, and it may not even be here in the morning! It was pretty though!

We had to get a little shopping in before our "big" snow. She looks so grown up in her big girl clothes and stroller!

We've reached a couple milestones at four months. Anna Kate made the "big jump" out of her cradle and into her big girl crib! The transition has gone pretty well. She still gets scared when she wakes up in the middle of the night and needs some consoling, but all in all it's gone fine. She is sitting up really well (with assistance of course). She loves to "read" books and even turns the pages in board books sometimes! She is quite a verbal baby... all girl! She also puts EVERYTHING in her mouth! At her last doctor's appointment she weighed 12.4 pounds and is 25" long. She in the 75th percentile for height and about the 40th for weight. Can't believe our baby girl is 4 months old!

Although she only made it until about 8:30 p.m. Anna Kate helped us ring in the new year. 2007 was one of the best years of my and Chris' lives. It was a long journey from when we found out we were pregnant in January to her arrival in September, but God has been good. These last few months with her have been absolutely amazing! The evening was spent playing with Anna Kate (and staying home to put her to bed at a decent time), eating frozen pizzas, watching movies, and barely staying awake to see Dick Clark and the crystal ball drop. Though it might not sound exciting or be glamorous, it was special to us!

Here is Anna Kate with some of her Christmas gifts!

Granna and Granddaddy fixed a wonderful dinner on Christmas night. We really enjoyed visiting with the family, opening gifts, and sharing memories of past Christmases. Of course Anna Kate had to pose for a few pictures. ;) She was very tired by the end of the night from such an exciting day!

Anna Kate's first Christmas morning was so special. We were lucky enough to have all my family over for breakfast (including all four of her great-grandparents!). She was wide-eyed at all the lights, people and sounds. She even seemed to pay a little attention to her presents! Having Christmas with a beautiful baby in our lives this year is the best gift of all!

We had a beautiful Christmas Eve with our daughter. We spent the day with my grandparents who came from FL. We enjoyed an evening of good food, games, gifts, and fun with Chris' family at their annual get-together at his parents house. Anna Kate even let us enjoy our tradition of ringing Christmas at a midnight church service with my family. It was really a nice night.
